#Read Me,Love Me, Buy Me (Book Review)

A Hidden Fire: Elemental Mysteries Book 1

By Elizabeth Hunter

Book description:

"No secret stays hidden forever."

A phone call from an old friend sets Dr. Giovanni Vecchio back on the path of a mystery he'd abandoned years before. He never expected a young librarian could hold the key to the search, nor could he have expected the danger she would attract. Now he and Beatrice De Novo will follow a twisted maze that leads from the archives of a university library, through the fires of Renaissance Florence, and towards a confrontation they never could have predicted.

A Hidden Fire is a paranormal mystery/romance for adult readers. It is the first book in the Elemental Mysteries Series.

While I was writing this review I found out that this book was the semi-finalist for Best Indie Books of 2012. Here was me thinking I was giving A Hidden Fire the recognition it deserved, when it seems that it’s already been done. Oh well, it’s a brilliant book, so I’m still doing the review.

Elizabeth gives a new spin on vampirism in the form of elements; wind, water, earth and fire. Every vampire can control one of the four elements which opens up a completely new type of vampire.

Main characters: B (Beatrice) is a young librarian, who is sarcastic, quick witted, and speaks before thinking (she’s my kind of girl), and Giovanni (Gio) is a 500-year-old vampire, who is the complete opposite of her, which makes them perfect for each other.

Plot: Gio comes to B’s library to do research. He likes her company (and her heritage) so much that he offers her a job as his assistant. After she finds out he’s not Batman, but a vampire, she accepts. Then the fun really starts!
Gio and B go through a world-wind of slow sizzling romance, shocking truths and lies, 500-year-old mysteries, life changing decisions and so much more. This book is honestly brilliant!

My rating is 5 ***** stars.
